Provider standards

How refrigeration providers are assessed.

Commercial Cooling Connect is a referral service. That makes provider selection one of the most important parts of the model.

F-gas qualifications and company certification

UK government guidance says individuals working on equipment containing F-gas need the appropriate qualifications. It also says companies — including sole traders — servicing stationary refrigeration equipment containing F-gas for other businesses need company certification from an approved certification body.

What we should check before routing regulated work

  • Business identity and contact details
  • Geographic service area
  • Types of commercial refrigeration the provider actually works on
  • Relevant F-gas individual qualifications/company certification where the job requires them
  • Whether the provider carries appropriate insurance for its work
  • How the provider handles call-out charges, quotations and customer communication

What a referral does not mean

A referral is not a guarantee of attendance, diagnosis, price, workmanship or outcome. The customer and independent provider decide whether to proceed and contract directly with each other.

Why provider checks matter

Clear provider checks help businesses understand who may receive their enquiry and what standards are expected before regulated work is referred.
